Waste Water Treatment

Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, materials and biological contaminants from raw water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water) but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including meeting the requirements of medical, pharma, chemical and industrial applications. In general the methods used include physical process such as filtration and sedimentation, biological processes, chemical process such flocculation, chlorination and use of electromagnetic radiation such ultraviolet light. The technologies used for treating the water is highlighted below

  • Reverse Osmosis ( Multi Pass Systems)

Sea Water Desalination We offer Sea water desalination reverse osmosis plants for production of low TDS permeate from sea water. The sea water desalination units are constructed based on a process expertise and an on-field experience we own backed by leading membrane manufacturers like Hydranautics and Toray. The desalination units are custom-made in combination with a site specific pre-treatment and sea intake system. The pre-treatment section is designed based on the input sea water quality and ensures that the right quality of sea water is provided as feed to the RO at all times.

    Typical pre treatment system envisage

    • Disinfection at intake point

    • Coagulation settling

    • Disinfection

    • Filtration

All sea water desalination units utilize the state-of-the-art's latest generation sea water compatible thin film composite polyamide membranes. The Reverse Osmosis block is built as a compact and rugged skid with aesthetic piping. We offer an option of stainless steel / FRP housing for the membranes. The piping for the RO systems is available in normal SS 304 / SS 316 to higher versions like electro-polished stainless steel for specific applications.

The sea water desalination system incorporates a standard turbo-based energy recovery device to achieve maximum energy saving. The turbo-based energy saving device is coupled with the high pressure booster pumps and comes in a sea water compatible duplex stainless steel material of construction. All wetted parts for the pumps and the turbo device have been tested and proven under severe operating conditions in sea water desalination all over the world.

Evaporation System

We offer technology to handle the final concentrated effluent generated from any recycling system. The technology adopted is specific to the nature and quantity of effluent is to be handled.

Forced Evaporation systems This system operates based on a combination of the relative humidity present in the air and solar heat. The waste water to be treated is evaporated in a three-stage process. The first stage involves spraying the water in the air by utilizing specially designed nozzles which produce a fine aerosol. This helps in maximum absorption of heat and increase the evaporation of water. The concentrate from this stage is taken to crystallization pans from where the crystallized salt is recovered.

Evaporators Evaporators operate on a principle of utilizing the heat source to evaporate the concentrated waste. Evaporators can be adopted to utilize the following heat sources which would be available in various industries

Typical packaged system comprises of

  • Steam

  • Flue gas

  • Process gas / water with adequate temperature

If none of the above sources are available, the evaporator can be operated by a diesel based fuel or steam.

The type of evaporator recommended depends on the nature and the quantity of effluent to be treated.

Typical evaporator options available are;

  • Mechanical evaporators which utilize diesel / furnace oil as fuel

  • Vacuum based multistage stage falling film type evaporators utilizing steam as the heating media

  • Multiple effect evaporation plants with Thermal & Mechanical vapour recompression

De-Mineralisers

We offer an array of pre-engineered packaged de-mineraliser units and custom-built de-mineraliser to meet individual customer requirements.

Packaged De-mineralizes comprise of two pressure vessels in MS / FRP filled with Strong Acid Cation and Strong Base Anion resin respectively. All packaged plants are skid mounted, completely assembled including necessary piping valves and chemical tanks for regeneration.

De-gasifiers In this we offer a full range of degassers to suit the packaged and custom-made de-mineraliser. Degassers when installed downstream of the cation unit removes the carbondioxide, thereby reducing the load on the downstream unit. This results in cost savings by way of reduced chemical consumption. Standard units comprise of a tower in mild steel rubber lined / FRP construction along with a blower and transfer pump in stainless steel construction. Additional pump and blowers are offered as options.

Custom Designed DM Plants To meet specific customer requirements, we have built de-mineralisers incorporating Weak Acid Cation and Weak Base Anion to handle water containing high amounts of alkalinity, chlorides and sulphates.

All DM units are available as manual, semi-auto or full-auto options with PLC based control systems. Automatic systems can be easily upgraded to be linked to client DCS if required.

Mixed Bed De-mineralisers Mixed bed de-mineralisers are used on the downstream of the DM unit to achieve high purity levels in the treated water. We confer packaged and custom-built mixed bed de-mineralisers. These mixed bed units comprise of a single vessel with a mixture of cation and anion resins and are offered with complete service and regeneration piping, self supportive skid foundation and chemical tanks for regeneration
